The Humanitarian Fund. This fund offers emergency aid to our members, lodges and communities experiencing distress or disaster. Over $100,000 was directed to the 911 disaster. Over $300,000 was provided during the Red River flood in 1997.
Helping Hand to Children. A new project, Helping Hand to Children, provides matching funds to lodges for mentoring or tutoring children.
A tax deductible 501 (c) (3) organization: The Sons of Norway Foundation was established in 1966 for the purpose of collecting funds by bequests, donations and gifts to be used for charitable, scientific, literary, and educational endeavors in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans. SKJOLD LODGE'S FOUNDATION FOCUS: Our lodge has a Foundation Director who coordinates our Foundation related activities.
Each year in October, we have a Foundation dinner with entertainment and a raffle to raise funds for the foundation. Additionally, the lodge and lodge members donate to the foundation and often "target" the donation for specific purposes.
