For many years the lodge would hold an event to raise money to help pay for the production and distribution of our newsletter, “Skjold News”. Doing so helped keep our dues as low as we could.
At the event members would donate nice items (often from Norway) and we would bid in a “blind auction” for those items. It was a fun event enjoyed by all.
In today’s world we too often found ourselves, buying an item to donate only to win it back at the event.
This year we are asking you to donate the amount you would have spent on an auction item and then We invite all attendees to bring an item for the raffle table. We will also be playing Bingo. Refreshments will be pot-luck. Now is a good time to try out that Norwegian recipe you’ve never made before.
Please join us at the meeting, bring your checkbook and make a donation (not required but very much appreciated).
