Scandinavian Fest and Skjold News Benefit

By Gene Kaczmarek

These two popular events in September were very successful this year. The food booth at Vasa Park sold all the lefse and pølse by the middle of the afternoon.  A special thanks to all who supplied home made goodies . It was a good day for the lodge.

The
Skjold News Benefit at the end of the month had 78 reservations and everyone enjoyed the catered food from Wikstrom's Deli. Auctioneer, Jon Satrum, was very entertaining and did a fine job auctioning the many parcels that were donated by lodge members. Tordis and I would like to thank all who worked hard to make these events worth while and profitable. It was overwhelming! Thanks Again.

Volunteer/Member Services Sheet

Enclosed you will notice the Sons of Norway volunteer /member services sheet. Every year the lodges have the responsibility of reporting volunteer acts and the hours donated to support its claim that the Sons of Norway qualifies as a fraternal/benefit organization. The form has been simplified in recent years and special attention should be given to the fraternal support column. Please fill in the form and return it to the lodge secretary. The totals for the lodge must be sent to the home office after the first of the year. Tusen Takk!

Tusen Tusen Takk!!!

Thank you to everyone who made the Skjold News Benefit such a huge success. For those that brought or bought; for those who organized or participated --thanks!

We at Skjold want to also thank the folks who made a generous donation without receiving anything. They are
Karin Wulf-Jaeger and Lillian Berge! Thank you ladies!
