Har Du Hørt  by Anne Shabez

was Evelyn who started making Norwegian sweet breads, etc., for the Grandparents to eat during their "several coffee breaks" during the course of the a day.

During the holiday, Carol and Evelyn tried their hand at making lefse for the first time.  Carol did the rolling of the lefse and her Mom did the grilling.  Evelyn could not wait to return to Wyoming to tell her neighbors what she had learned!

Evelyn was also here to join Skjold Lodge for our Christmas party.  Evelyn enjoyed talking to "the ladies" at the party and learned many new things about the Norwegian Christmas traditions.  She sends her "hello" to all of us here at Skjold and is now checking our website for information and looking for pictures and news about people she met at Skjold!  Thanks, Liz and Kate, for bringing Evelyn to the Christmas party!

Our ongoing goal is to improve Skjold News with each issue.  You will see us experimenting with different content, formats, appearance, pictures, weights of paper, etc.
A few readers suggested that we print in a larger type font.  Others said the current font was fine.  In this issue, wherever practical, the font is 10-18% larger than the January-February issue.  That issue

had a font typical of many magazines.  The larger font will cut down on how much content we can have.  Let us know what you think.
We are already planning articles for all 2004 issues of Skjold News.  Don't wait for a "cutoff" on "next months" input.  We could even use December articles now.  Some might become ongoing sections of the newsletter.
You will find our articles on Norway and Norwegian cul

DECEMBER ISN'T THAT FAR AWAY.
We could use suggestions for DECEMBER articles NOW.  Read why.
