km (13,420 miles)!
Norway has about the same area as England, Italy or Japan.  With only 4.3 million people, there is plenty of space.  For example, just the area around Chicago has 8.3 million people.
Polar Vinter (Polar Night)
Above the arctic circle, there is a time each summer when the sun never goes down.  In the winter the sun never comes up and they have a long "polar night".

Fortunately, it is not completely dark as the moon lights up the snow-covered land.  In Tromsø (see the picture on the right) they will be seeing the "Midnight Sun" from May 20 (about right now) to July 22 .  Any time you go to bed, the sun is still up!
Some people call Norway "The Land of the Midnight Sun".
