we enjoy your presence.
In April, not only did we share dinner together, we, also initiated three new members: Don Miller, Bill Barber, and Keith Emrikson.  Don has been a member since May 2004.  Also, 2005 officers, who had not yet been installed, were installed.
Jim Oberweis, President of Oberweis Dairy, gave a presentation on the history of ice cream at the May meeting.  Members and guests enjoyed the ice cream donated by Mr. Oberweis.  Thank you to Marilyn Lien for arranging this special ice cream social.

Many from Skjold Lodge attended the Syttende Mai Parade.  Don Lien and Jon Satrum drove their red convertibles, while others carried Norwegian flags and walked the parade.  Marilyn Lien walked the parade with a new "sandwich" board containing information about the Lodge, which might be the reason that two new members joined the lodge.  Thank you to all those who turned out for this event. It is with sadness that we note the passing of our member and good friend, Barney Jacobson.  There is much we could say, but the memorial on page 6, written by Krista Bachman, captures the essence of what we feel.
In honor of Barney, the lodge unanimously voted on May 27 to name our lodge scholarship "The Barney Jacobson Memorial Scholarship".
It is good to see so many of you at the Skjold Lodge meetings!  There are faces that we have not seen in a long time and
