Har Du Hørt by Anne Shabez

"Steam Boatin":  On May 7th, Bob & Karin Jaeger spent 2 days in New Orleans before boarding the "Mississippi Queen" for the trip of a lifetime north to Memphis.  This was a trip that really brought Mark Twain's stories alive.
On board, service and entertainment were like a cruise ship and the Jaegers were fortunate to be seated at a congenial table for 8--lots of fun and laughter the whole trip.  Each day after a "tour talk" they visited towns affected by the civil war, a battlefield in Vicksburg, historic homes, plantations, truly re-living our American history in

the south.
In Memphis they had a day long sightseeing tour of the city including a visit to the impressive St. Jude's hospital for children founded by Danny Thomas and a trip to Elvis Presley's
home, Graceland.  These were two people who came from poverty, became successful and shared their wealth with the less fortunate.
On the trip they had dinner with Karin's grandson, Eric Wulf, his lovely wife, and little 7 month old Hayden.  They arrived home on May 17th.

RAFFLES
At each lodge meeting we raffle items donated by lodge members.  We could use more donations to the Skjold raffle.  A good guideline is to donate an item of $5.00 or more in value that is something you would like to win yourself.  The money from the raffle helps pay the rent and miscellaneous expenses.  Please participate in the raffle by contributing prizes and purchasing raffle tickets.

Mange Tusen Takk!

Moving from Volo:
A big thank you to all the folks who helped move our lodge possessions from the Volo storage facility to our new storage location.

The Library:  Thanks to Wendell Brenner, our Librarian, for setting up our lodge library and coordinating the move of everything to the hall just outside the Hospitality Room at the church.  Thanks also to all the folks that helped move the library to its new home.
