95th Anniversary Celebration Skjold lodge celebrated its 95th anniversary on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the Avalon banquet hall in Elk Grove, Illinois. A capacity crowd of 130 members and guests enjoyed an evening of good food and musical entertainment. The program included special greetings and congratulations from Harland Anderson, District 5 President, Jostein Bakken, International Director, and Carol Ann Carlsen, President of Skjold Lodge. Carol presented a 25 year pin to Anny Kyrk. Master of Ceremonies, George Sievers, entertained the guests throughout the evening. Paul Anderson, Norwegian Hon. Consul General for Chicago, spoke about the history of Norway leading to peaceful separation from Sweden in 1905. Later, the Bjornson Male Chorus serenaded the guests, followed by the dance music of the Sidemen Jazz Band. The evening concluded with a raffle.
Raffle winners were: Rose Haakonsen - $500 Nordis Hansen - (Egersund, Norway) - $250 Doris Babowski - Norwegian granite clock Marie E. Broberg - Gift basket from Erickson's Deli Peter Jack - Gift basket from Wikstrom's Deli.
