mark.  We found a package deal that included a boat trip, overnight in a hotel and frokost in the morning.  Then travel to the next hotel for dinner, another stay over with frokost in the morning, and back on the boat.  We did manage to do a little shopping in Denmark.  Always find time to shop!

On September 17, Robert Jaeger's grandson, Nick Bridge, married Kathy Pedersen of Crystal Lake, Illinois.  On October 12,
Karin Wulf Jaeger's grandson, Tim Wulf, married Darcie Condon of Bloomingdale, Illinois.  Each of our grandsons served as groom's attendant for the other.  Eric Wulf, residing in Memphis, Tennessee, also served as a groom's attendant for his brother Tim.  We were happy to have Eric's wife, Bryn, and their one year old daughter, Hayden, share this happy time with us.
The Nick Bridge's wedding reception took place in the Pedersen garden in Crystal Lake.  The Wulf reception took place in a banquet hall in Glen Ellyn.  With 300 people attending each wedding, joining these families was the event of a lifetime.  It seemed as if we were all old friends.
On Sunday, October 13, our two families enjoyed the celebration of Bob's brother Art's 80th birthday.  We oldsters should recover by Thanksgiving.

Gene and Tordis Kaczmarek drove to Champaign-Urbana for the homecoming week-end on October 21 and 22. It was nice to visit the campus once again. The weather was pleasant and there was time to shop and visit. However, the football game was not very exciting. Illinois lost to Penn State by a score of 63-10. One of the highlights before the game occurred during the singing of the national anthem. Two jet fighters from the China Lake Naval Air Station in California did a fly-over and it was a beautiful sight to see. The Illinois band gave an excellent performance during the half time ceremony, and it's always exciting to see the "Indian Chief". They had a good visit to the campus.

Here is an article from
Judy and Ted Torgersen that was missed earlier:
Greetings from Door County and Norway.  Diane & Don Overby send greetings to all their friends in Skjold lodge.  We stopped at the Overby's and took them to the concert at the Birch Creek Music camp in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin.  Cindy and her husband spent 2 weeks every summer teaching music at the camp.  It is a job they thoroughly enjoy.  Needless to say we enjoyed the concert immensely.
The family's reunion (Judy's side of the family) took much planning. We spent the weekend with Judy's cousin and his wife on the Island of Tysnes, south of Bergen.  It started out with a cook-out on the homestead.  The next day was lunch of open-faced sandwiches (catered) and Saturday evening was the banquet with dancing.  There is a lot of musical talent in the family so no outside group was hired.  The committee thought of everything.  There were busses to take us around.
The following week-end we finally got to do something  we have always longed to do--take a car on the boat and go to Den
