together. Without their hard work, this event would never have gotten off the ground. Everything came together without a hitch. We even had heat. Secondly, I want to give a heartfelt thanks to all our members who spent days cooking and baking so Skjold could have something to sell. So many people helped us that I am sure I will forget to mention somebody. But just for starters, here is a Thank You! To Lois Amack, Karli Barber, Lorrie Brenner, Tordis Kaczmarek, Anne Meland, Jon Satrum, Kathy Secora and Anne Shabez. The lapskaus and the pea soup were great and so Norwegian. Let's, please, have these at every Norwegian event. Our Heritage Fest presented so many Norwegian cultural themes it is hard to know where to start. But let's mention Bob Bolstad and Lillian Berge, who showed us how to make fresh lefse. It tasted good, Lillian, and, suddenly, I felt a lot more Norwegian after I ate your lefse. Keep up the good work. Jon Satrum made fresh krumkake and had to keep supplying the baked goods table because it sold so fast. I want to thank the "Jul Hus" of Rockford for bringing a multitude of Scandinavian gift items. Wendell Brenner and John Halvorsen did a wonderful job at the membership table. They spent a great deal of time talking to prospective members and explaining the benefits of joining Skjold Lodge. Thankfully, John is a lawyer, so he knows how to talk.
