This is a film about the world famous painter Edvard Munch, about the life he lived and painted. The film is based upon important events in Munch's life that may reveal who he was, and how his art was influenced by the life he lived. The film attempts to capture Edvard Munch's diversity and dilemmas, to find connections between the events of his childhood and youth, his art and his adult life.  We follow in his footsteps from childhood to old age.

SØLVI A. LINDSETH was born 1963 in Norway, studied at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, Bergen University (Norway) and Austin College in New Mexico and graduated in film and TV production at Volda District College in 1988. She has been working with film and TV production since 1988. Dance of Life is her debut as a director.
