WE REMEMBER: December was a difficult month as we reflect on the passing of several of our members: Vivian Isaksen on December 12, June Waters on December 27, and Doris Lodin on December 28. *************************************************** Dear Friends and Members, Once again thank you for sending me the Skjold News which you know I really enjoy. It's great to see the names of many I remember and also the many new folks now attending. Perhaps some day soon I might get to meet them when I return up yonder. We've really had beautiful weather this past year but not such good health due to old age, as my doctor says, but what can one expect when one lives so long? As some of you know, I'm really getting up there. But all in all I've had many good, healthy years, so do not complain! Each New Year is great at times. As you know we have no Sons of Norway Lodges in Arkansas. Don't even think we have many Norwegians down here, in fact, none I have met. But there are many other good folks. I'll just have to remember the good old times and keep in touch with you. Sending a little donation as a special thank-you for keeping me in touch. To all of you, greetings, and a Happy New Year of PEACE and good health. Hilsen, Harriet Pedersen *************************************************** TWINS HAVE ARRIVED and everyone is elated including: Great Grandparents Ted and Judy Torgersen; Grandparents, Steven & Vergie Torgersen, and Parents, Ingrid & Sean Behan. Ingrid is the Granddaughter of Ted and Judy Torgersen. The 2 girls Nylah - 5lb 1 oz. & Kiri -4lb 11 0z were born on January 7, 2008. *************************************************** Five relatives from Norway visited Ted and Judy Torgersen. Three of Ted's nieces from Egersund & 2 of Judy's cousins from Oslo came to celebrate Ted's 80th birthday (where did those years go?). A great time was had by all. *************************************************** "Tordis Kaczmarek would like to report the arrival of a new great-grandson, Nash Adam, born on January 15, 2008. The proud parents are Bradley and Tracy Sievers. The family lives in Plano, Texas, and they have another son, Nate, who is 18 months old. We extend our sincere congratulations to all on this happy event!"
