Karin Wulf-Jaeger's eldest grandson, Eric and his wife, Bryn, presented Karin with a second great-granddaughter on January 21, 2008.  Eric and Bryn's daughters are Hayden, 3, and newborn, Hannah.  "After our visit to Norway last year Eric surprised me by joining Sons of Norway.  He is very proud of his Norwegian heritage and wants his girls to learn about it as well.  Take your grandchildren "back home" for a visit.  It pays off in so many ways"--Karin

Jim and Kathy Secora are happy to welcome their third grandson, Viktor James Secora Pearl, born January 22 in Arcadia, California. Equally exciting is the fact that the whole family: Mom Cheryl, Dad Jonathan, Remy, Eddie, and Viktor are in the process of moving back to the Midwest. They have bought a house in Racine and will move in April 1st.

Karen Severson reported that about 20 people had a fun day at our annual bowling outing on Sunday March 30.  Thanks to all who participated.

OOPS!
In the push to get the March-April issue out the door, we forgot a note submitted by our "Lefse Lady",  Lillian Berge.  Here it is in its entirety.

It was my delight to be able to demonstrate "Ah Lefse" at the Skjold Lodge Heritage Fest November 18 (2007).  With enough interest shown, possibly "The Art of Making Lefse" workshop could be arranged.

I would appreciate any of the many pictures taken at the fest if you would be willing to share them..  You made my day with your encouragement and appreciation.

Mange tusen takk to all.
Lillian Berge                "Ah Lefse"

If anyone has pictures from Heritage fest to share with Lillian, give them to Jon Satrum at a meeting or send them to him at the address on page 1 and he will get them to Lillian.

Ole died. So Lena went to the local paper to put a notice in the obituaries. The gentleman at the counter, after offering his condolences, asked Lena what she would like to say about Ole.
Lena replied, "You yust put 'Ole died'."
The gentleman, somewhat perplexed, said, "That's it? Just 'Ole died?'  Surely, there must be something more you'd like to say about Ole. If its money you're concerned about, the first five words are free. We must say something more."
So Lena pondered for a few minutes and finally said, "O.K. You put 'Ole died. Boat for sale.' "
